The ego has landed in Vaughan.
Instead of being graceful in defeat, Vaughan Mayor Michael Di Biase is holding on like a dog with a bone. He has hired a lawyer to ask a Supreme Court judge to order a new election.
When contender Linda Jackson beat Di Biase by a narrow margin of 90 votes in last Monday’s election, the first thing out of his mouth was, “This isn’t over.”
Di Biase’s legal case now involves allegations voters were confused, some members of the Jewish community were afraid to vote in a Catholic school and vote-counting machines broke down.
While I’d never suggest we deny anyone his or her day in court, I can’t help but deliver this message to Di Biase: “Get over yourself.”
Agreed. Lets move on with this. This sore loser attitude continues to mar the image of this great city.
Thanks for the memories Mr.Mayor and lets move on.
