Who is this Stephane Dion?
The new Liberal party leader's English is God awful, he's a bit of a nerd and the average Canadian doesn't know him from Adam.
While my crystal ball called Bob Rae in a photo finish, I'm thrilled with the outcome.
Dion is like a drink of spring water: he's crisp, sharp and cool. As a bonus, he is a hard, hands-on worker, bull-dog stubborn, as honest as the day's long and he's been a Liberal forever.
By picking Dion, it looks as if the lost Liberals have found themselves.
Since Dion was not the choice of Liberal party's senior advisors, the top-down control of the party cracked, broke and, hopefully, fell a notch or two.
I especially welcome the power shift.
Democracy is best served when it's defined, organized and delivered from the bottom up.
