Are you a Toronto Maple Leafs hockey fan?
You know, one of those slavishly faithful diehards who will cheer them on no matter what.
Take a look in the mirror. You're stupid.
I'm not sure if there are any sports fans in the world as stupid as Toronto Maple Leaf fans.
And you know what? The corporate suits that own the franchise are counting on that as they count their millions.
They know that no matter what kind of pathetic product they throw on the ice at the Air Canada Centre they'll fill every seat.
And next year, when they suit up another team of losers, they'll do it again.
What I would do is give every Leafs fan who plunks down their money for one of those obscenely over-priced tickets a T-shirt that reads "I'm with stupid". Matter of fact, that should be the team slogan.
The most successful hockey franchise in the world hasn't produced a Stanley Cup winner since 1967 and isn't likely to anytime soon. But wait for training camp. The Toronto sports writers (also stupid), will be giving glowing reports on what promise this year's team shows and gullible fans will buy into it. The worst is the Toronto Sun that regularly splashed game photos on their front page with delirious headlines. The latest reads "Way to end the season boys", referring to one of their rare wins to end the season and then called that season "disappointing."
Way to end the season? Disappointing? How about disastrous!
Ah well, hope springs eternal for Buds nuts. There aren't sports fans anywhere else in the world that would put up with this. Can you imagine what Yankees fans would do if they hadn't had a World Series win in four decades? Yankee stadium would be a pile of ashes and George Steinbrenner would be hanging from a lamp post in Times Square.
Doesn't bother Leaf fans though. They'll continue to fly their stupid flags from their stupid cars with those stupid Leaf logo licence plates as they drive along wearing their stupid Leaf jerseys.
Guess they enjoy being in an abusive relationship.
